Service Technician

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director of Service:

• Coordinate with sales department for responding to requests for quotes. (Provide man hours, material lists, capabilities etc.).
• Coordinate with purchasing and stock room departments with shop supplies, bills of materials, project plans and budgets as required for service department related jobs. (Part of planning with the project manager)
• Coordinate with Operations and HR department for service department related tasks. (Applying for base access, training records, etc.)
• Coordinate with project managers, end users and customers to plan, schedule and execute work orders.
• Coordinate with QA for tests, inspections, documentation, certifications, forms, and record keeping as required.
• Coordinate with Safety department as required. Ensure a safe working environment is maintained, proper training in equipment is conducted, PPE is available and used correctly.
• Manage and assist with development and implementation of the SOLAS inspection training program for employees and external teaming partners.
• Training on marine components engines and propulsion systems may be provided as required.
• Assign tasks to service department team members, monitor work quality and progress.
• Ensure service department employees are following company guidelines and practices. (On time, clocking in/out, etc.).
• Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair various marine components, engines, and propulsion systems to include inboard diesel and gasoline outboard engines.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Operate various boats as required.
• Operate forklifts and work trucks.
• Ability to operate a work truck towing boat trailer.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Productively work with the Service technicians to ensure all scheduled jobs are completed on time while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Good communication skills and proficient with computers, email, MS word and Excel.
• Frequent regional and international travel is required.
• Other duties and assignments as assigned or required.
