Service Technician

Roan Street in Johnson City, and we are growing steadily. Preferred Choice Homes LLC has an immediate opening for a Service Technician that specializes in Manufactured Housing. The Technician would be responsible for delivering above bar customer service when dealing directly with our customers and sub-contractors. The goal is to make warranty, courtesy or service repairs that meet or exceed the expectations of our customers. Technician may be asked to assist with our Morristown Tennessee lot location as well.

Duties / Responsibilities

· Providing reliable and trustworthy service and customer support during customer home visits.

· Effectively schedule and manage all on-site inspections, repairs, maintenance, and testing tasks.

· Diagnosing error or technical problems and determining proper solutions.

· Experience with all hand tools, power tools and diagnostic tools.

· Ensure that all work orders, request for service, and parts forms are properly detailed with required information.

· Provide polite, ethical, and knowledgeable communication to all customers (homeowners, retail team members, facility team members, and the home office support team).

· Cooperate with customer care support staff and share information with the production team to improve the quality of our homes.

· Ensure and promote the satisfaction of our customers through exceptional attention to detail, thorough communication, knowledge of our homes and all components, demonstrate a sense of urgency, and a desire to provide excellent customer service.

· Build positive relationships with all customers.

· Operate vehicle in a safe manner.

· Work with local, state, and federal inspectors to assure our homes are built to the proper codes as described in 24 CFR Part 3280 and our DAPIA.

· Follow all federal processes and requirements of the DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.

· Wear required safety protection equipment, safety glasses, hearing protection and respirators.

· Review product work order for the day

· Check for preventive maintenance on tools to be used.

· Work with instructions from supervisors on tasks and product needed.

· Work with materials such as wood and steel

· Utilize hand tools and power hand tools: saws, drills, air stapler, air nail guns, grinders, sanders, and presses.

· Check Quality

· Clean-up work area end of shift or when job is complete.

Requirements:

• Minimum basic skill using air power hand tools and electric powered saws and drill, experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend measurements with a tape within a 1/16 of an inch measurement.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 100 pounds; occasionally lift more than 100 pounds and occasionally use ladders / steps to enter and exit homes.
• Ability to communicate with co-workers in a professional manner.
• Successfully pass a drug test and background check
• Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.

Travel Requirements:

• Extensive Travel based on needs of the customers and service team.

· Some weekends
