This is a 1st shift position, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays (Tuesday-Thursday onsite). This is a contract position, anticipated for 1 year duration. The person in this role will develop, validate, and implement common serviceability specifications, service part release/information with simultaneous production across multiple vehicle platforms. You will be responsible for representing service engineering during the vehicle development process ,while partnering with product engineering teams to achieve world class serviceability.
What You'll Do:
This position involves the integration of GM with joint venture partners and will require the following but not limited to:
• Convert information from Joint Ventures into useful information for General Motors release
• Release Joint Venture Service Parts into Aftersales Release and Catalog (ARC) system
• Release service usage application for both Joint Venture unique as well as GM engineered shared content in ERAPA mainframe
• Development of electronic parts catalog illustration legend data paired with the illustration images
• Address Part and Accessory Change Notices (PACN)
• Communicate change management solutions from Joint Venture partners to General Motors
• Act as the single point of contact for corrective actions on Service Parts
• Address incoming customer concerns raised through Partech inquiries
• Review Joint Venture illustration data to develop new model year forecast for the electronic parts catalog
• Perform Illustration and service usage audits to ensure integrity of data
• Perform post vehicle launch maintenance to ensure proper service usage is communicated to the customer
• Create and/or revise illustrations for Service Parts.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Skills):
• Bachelor's Degree or relevant/equivalent experience
• Demonstrated strong technical knowledge of vehicle serviceability and/or component designs
• Knowledge of vehicle development process, change management, and immersive/virtual engineering systems
• Ability to create technical 2-D Illustration with applicable CAD software
• Effective interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others
• Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
• Able and willing to learn quickly. Strives for continuous self-improvement through formal and informal learning
- Adept analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access
• Strong drive to uncover and implement efficiencies
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
• Automotive Service Parts experience at the wholesale or retail level
• Manufacturing, vehicle engineering experience
• Working knowledge of automotive service practices and procedures
• Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle systems
• GM dealership or field experience
• Prior Joint Venture or Medium Duty experience
• Hands on experience in automotive diagnosis and repair
• High level of oral and written communication skills
Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday onsite.
Monday and Friday can work from home.
