VIKING Life-Saving Equipment A/S is a global market leader in maritime, offshore and fire safety, providing and servicing safety and fire-fighting equipment for passenger and cargo ships, offshore installations, fishing vessels, the Navy, helicopter services, fire departments and leisure yachts.

Duties of the role will include but not limited to:
General Responsibilities:
The manager will oversee Life Rafts (LR), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with instructions and objectives given by the Director Service, Viking Life-Saving Equipment (America), Inc.
The Service Manager (SM) is responsible that all service activities on LR and PPE at VIKING New Orleans, LA. (NOLA). SM will carry out in accordance with the VIKING values and external and internal rules and regulations.
The SM is responsible for the overall management of the personnel at VIKING NOLA raft and PPE services, having the authority to rotate, employ and terminate employees.
The SM is responsible for maintaining and improving the VIKING culture, spirit and teamwork in the NOLA, including possible service and to motivate them to achieve higher goals as well as use their resources in the most efficient way to overall benefit of the Employer.
The SM is responsible for all raft service employees located at VIKING NOLA. The SM will need to be up to date with service information, education and knowledge enabling them to perform the duties required by them.
Duties
1. The SM in cooperation with the Service Director (SD) will be responsible for developing objectives and strategic plans for the raft service department within the framework of the VIKING NOLA.
2. The SM is responsible for the timely production of ad hoc and periodic (monthly, quarterly, yearly) reports for rafts production at VIKING NOLA.
3. The SM is responsible for the performance development of the service raft team and the progressive activities and engagement including the yearly/periodical negotiation of salaries with the employees.
4. The SM will be responsible for supervising the physical locations of spare, equipment and maintaining a log of inventory.
5. Develop and manage monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for the service department.
6. Provide monthly reports of accomplished services against planned services.
7. In conjunction with the shop lead, develop employee training plan for the team.
8. Participate in the development and execution of a program for measuring the efficiency of the service personnel on a monthly frequency.
9. Oversee and ensure that all service performed on LR and PPE is being done in accordance with updated manual and in as cost effective a manner as possible and ensure compliance with the requirements of VIKING and the customers QHSE management systems.
10. Oversee the quality control of service provided and ensure good working relations with our customers including solving of eventual customer complaints regarding service.
11. Oversee the purchase of life raft maintenance supplies and equipment and maintain the loaner life rafts inventory at a minimum.
12. Liaise with on-board and shore-based customer staff in order to oversee the coordination of services to ensure flawless service execution.
13. Ensure that all best practices are identified and implemented. Including best practices within QHSE, service and general awareness.
