Job Description
Duties:
- Maintain a positive attitude while leading a team efficiently and productively.
- Recruit and maintain staffing levels.
- Familiar with POS Mitchell 1 system with knowledge of computers, printers, and their operation.
- Follow all OHSA and Safety Standards set forth by the company policy and procedure manuals.
- Ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained at the shop and with the company vehicles.
- Ensure all shop personnel act and look professional per the policy manual.
- Evaluate expenses and margins to ensure they are reaching their budgeted goals.
- Anticipate technician's needs using proper leadership techniques and proven problem-solving methods.
- Have a full working knowledge of the service associate handbook to respond to every customer and service associate inquiry.
- Manage all external service providers and review yearly contracts as needed to maximize profitability.
- Monitor customer problems to ensure high response time and proper problem resolutions.
- Provide excellent assistance to the needs of your customers and your team.
- Maintain the standard operating procedure of the shop.
- Maintain timecards and manage scheduling while tracking the calendar for holidays and emergency circumstances.
Qualifications:
- Must have a working knowledge of the Diesel repair industry. (At least five years diesel mechanic experience required within your career) plus managing Fleet Equipment.
- Must be comfortable being on the service floor and on your feet for six to seven hours daily while monitoring staff.
- Must lift 50 pounds or less to serve customers if appropriately required.
- Working knowledge of shop software, Windows computers, essential programs, and performance metrics applications,
- Demonstrated ability to work solo and be a strong leader, overseeing an entire department of at least 12 + employees.
- Set reportable metrics to measure and maintain the performance and health of the company's service department.
- Must be an excellent communicator and speaker in written and face-to-face customer service interactions.
- Must have the ability to prioritize and organize time wisely.
- Must have experience ordering, receiving, and maintaining inventory.
- POS experience with Mitchell 1 a plus.
- Demonstrated ability and proven track record of employee management.
- Must have reliable transportation and phone.
One Location
Wages:
$80k to $100k depending on skill level.
