Service Engineer Apprenticeship

You’re a skillful Mechatronics Technician who’s looking to jump start their career. This role will work hand and hand with our Electrical, Mechanical, and Controls Departments. After training this role will transition into a Field Service Engineer which is at the forefront of our innovation team, which includes handling customer service calls and traveling to customer locations in the United States

You will be a great fit if want to learn how to:

• Design, upgrade, and troubleshoot new and existing PLC control systems based on company guidelines.
• Travel to work with customers and engage them in commissioning systems in the field.
• Provide training to customers on efficiency and operating systems.
• Implement robotic programming and troubleshooting of Kawasaki, Kuka, & Fanuc Robots.
• Develop strong interpersonal skills and collaborate with the engineering department to understand complex automation lines, designs and integrate control packages within these lines.
• Design/upgrade new and existing HMI applications including Allen Bradley, and Proface touch screens on company guidelines and/or customer needs.
• Collaborate with clients, customers, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve problems with delivered products.
• Implement mechanical, electrical, and programming troubleshooting.

To be considered you will need:

• Education: Industry-related college degree preferred  
• Experience: Experience in Controls, Systems Engineering, Mechanical and/or Electrical role, or Robotics experience preferred
• Physical Requirements: Up to 50% Travel - Must be able to acquire a passport, if asked. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times and able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time.

  • Heavy Mechanical/Electrical Aptitude
  • Alley Bradley PLC: ControlLogix\CompactLogix, PlantPAx, PLC 5, MicroLogix, SLC 500, RS Logix, Studio 5000, Studio Designer, FactoryTalk SE/ME
  • Kawasaki/Kuka/Fanuc - Robot Programming experience a plus.
  • Siemens PLC: TIA Portal v12, TIA Portal v13, TIA Portal v14, Step 7, S7-1500, S7-1200, S7-300, S7-400, WinCC Flex
  • HMI Programming and Operations: Proface, Allen Bradley: FactoryTalk View Studio, RS View, PanelBuilder, Siemens: ProTool
  • Variable Frequency Drives - Allen Bradley Powerflex, Eaton, SEW Eurodrive.
  • Servos – Allen Bradley: Kenetics 6000, SERCOS Servo Drive Interface, Yaskawa: SGDV, SGDH
