Summary of Responsibilities:

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of the Streck desktop and software environment. Acts as the first point of contact for users reporting technical issues. Responsible for performing other desktop and network duties as assigned by management.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Provide first response technical support for end user, connectivity, and service issues.
  • Logically troubleshoot, research, and implement solutions for computer and network problems.
  • Identify technical issues and escalate to appropriate resources. May diagnose, research, and resolve some problems in a timely manner.
  • Perform hardware and software installation using established network imaging technology.
  • Assist in performing network server backups.
  • Develop and maintain desktop and network support documentation and operating procedures.
  • Complete troubleshooting on printer devices and print server problems.
  • Maintain inventory of desktop and network hardware and software.
  • Complete documentation for recording all issues and problems, tracking updates, and monitoring trends of problems to address larger issues.
  • Validate resolution of problems with end customers.
  • Maintain all information in a confidential manner.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements include:

  • An associate degree in information technology, computer science or related discipline or one year of related work experience can substitute.
  • One to two years of experience in supporting a desktop and network environment.
  • Ability and desire to improve technical knowledge and skills.

Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to identify and resolve simple to moderately complex problems.
  • Ability to work independently to logically troubleshoot computer issues.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Business skills and ability to learn business operations.
  • Good listening skills and ability to respond professionally to end users experiencing technical issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with other members of IT to support application implementations, test events, upgrades, and in troubleshooting activities.
  • Ability to install, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a prompt, courteous and organized manner.
  • Ability to create and maintain detailed documentation as programs and systems are developed and modified.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.

Work Environment/Travel Demands:

The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work).

Travel demands for this position are estimated up to 0%. Employees must comply with all travel recommendations regarding “safe travel” according to company policies and guidelines, and all federal, state, local, and international orders.

Physical and Mental Demands:

Medium work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This also includes standing for up to two and a half hours consecutively, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, stooping, fingering, and grasping. Expressing and receiving detailed information through written and oral communication. Also has an ability to make sound, appropriate, and prompt decisions within the guidelines of the role.
