Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
2. 1 year prior experience preferred
3. Ability to work effectively in a high volume environment while maintaining proper portion control, safety, health and service standards.
4. Must have cash handling experience; responsible for all transactions in a Casino environment.
5. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
6. Must be willing and able to participate in on-going training.
7. Must be at least 21 years of age.
8. Must be able to follow all safety policies and Graton Resort Casino's standard procedures.
9. Must be able to obtain a Gaming Registration, Non-Gaming Card, Health Card and Responsible Beverage Service State Cerification. Must keep all current required work cards on your person during your shift.
10. Serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with Responsible Beverage Service Training.
11. Practice the 10/5 rule consistency with internal and external Guests.
12. Must manage time effectively with minimum supervision.
Physical Requirements:
1. Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs., with or without assistance.
2. Ability to climb, push, pull, stoop, grasp, walk, sit, stand, bend and reach for duration of shift.
3. Requires manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
4. Requires normal hearing range
Job Description
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Graton Resort Casino culture and Service Standards at all times.
2. Responsible for knowing the types of classes (i.e. well, call, premium, ultra specialty) and brand names of the products we offer. Must be familiar with the acceptable alternative item to offer a Guest in the event an item ordered is not available.
3. Prepare and pour drinks in a timely manner. Must pass Company testing and standards as it relates to free pouring, using a jigger and gun. Must have detailed knowledge and understanding of pours and portion size standards. Must be able to operate all soda, juice and liquor guns.
4. Perform proper shaking standards as determined by the Company.
5. Have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all drink recipes and the preparation and garnishment of the drinks. Must use appropriate glassware as determined by outlet and/or drink recipes.
6. Maintain a clean, properly stocked and organized bar, lounge, dining area and side station including, but not limited to all glassware, condiments and dry goods.
7. Verify par levels for all products and equipment needs within the designated work area at the beginning of each shift. Must bring shortages and/or needs to the attention of the manager on duty.
8. Be approachable to internal and external Guests. Able to anticipate the Guest's needs and check on them regularly.
9. Deliver all food and beverage items to the Guests in a timely and accurate fashion.
10. Inform manager on duty of any Team Member or Guest opportunities.
11. Knowledge of Company Safety procedures and emergency evacuation procedures for the Guests and Team Members.
12. Manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
13. Communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
14. Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed. Bartender must maintain required bar cleanliness throughout shift.
15. Have full understanding and ability to operate all applicable InfoGenesis P.O.S. screens. Able to handle Company funds through cash transaction on the P.O.S. System in accordance with all Company policies and procedures. Able to maintain accurate and proper cash handling procedures. Ensures that there is no co-mingling of funds.
16. Ability to act in a manner that reflects a positive, professional image consistent with the Company's practices.
17. Handle the chemicals for the glass washing machine in a safe manner. Have knowledge where your MSDS booklet is located for your area.
18. Responsible and accountable for all cash variances +/- $10.00.
19. Responsible for verification of all liquor deliveries. Verify the form against the accrual product received and make a notation of items not received. Bartender must notify management of all shortages or overage on the delivery.
20. Run and comply with all closing reports and procedures at the end of shift in accordance with Graton Resort Casino's departmental standards.
21. Beverage Team Members must able to answer Guest's questions and be familiar with all menu items within their outlet. Team Members must practice service standards and appropriate sequence of service for food and beverage service.
22. Must maintain personal grooming and uniform standards per department and Company standards.
23. Must maintain proper flow of beverage service to Beverage Servers in accordance with all Graton Resort and Casino's standards and cocktail call procedures, in an efficient manner.
24. Must hold all applicable work cards for the Bartender position. Must carry work cards with you during shift and act responsibly in accordance with health and alcohol training.
25. Ability to work closely and as a team with other departments including all of Food and Beverage, Slots, Security and other Gaming departments. Must be knowledgeable of all property events, promotions and attractions.
26. Ability to adhere to all Company and department policies and procedures. Must be able to provide leadership and demonstrate teamwork to Team Members within and outside of department.
