Summary of Position: SERVER

Each server’s primary objective is to fulfill and exceed guests’ expectations by providing friendly, attentive service to create an exceptional dining experience so that they will want to return again and again.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know they are there to take care of them.
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
  • Make recommendations that genuinely feel our guests will enjoy.
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests; enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
  • Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter.
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
  • Maintain clean service areas.
  • Monitor and observe guests’ dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges, or make a change (if applicable).
  • Assist fellow servers as situations arise.
  • Assist bussers with clearing and resetting tables.
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.

Working Conditions

  • Indoor & outdoor settings depending on the outlet
  • Varied weather conditions are expected
  • Will work near moving or mechanical parts

Fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the manager on duty.

Qualifications:

  • Be able to communicate and understand English.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions. Experience is a plus.
  • Possess basic math skills and can handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 5 hours).
  • Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 40 pounds.

Discretion / Independent Judgment

This position does represent the company in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes, or resolving grievances, as a Restaurant Server you will be expected to work with guests and visitors to ensure satisfaction. A Restaurant Server will have to take initiative, get creative in resolving guest challenges, and involve a supervisor only when previous methods have been unsuccessful.

Job Description

Summary of Position: BARTENDER

Preparing beverages for the bar and all other guests. Interacting with customers, taking orders, and serving food and drinks. Assessing customers’ needs and preferences and making recommendations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurant’s standard drink recipes.
  • Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars.
  • Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system.
  • Accept guest payments, process credit card charges, and make a change (if applicable).
  • Wash and sterilize glassware.
  • Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks, and appetizers for bar patrons.
  • Maintains bottles and glasses attractively and functionally to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
  • Clear and reset tables in the bar area.
  • Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all bar areas, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
  • Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
  • Assist in the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.

B&D Burgers Bartender Description

  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
  • General cleaning duties.
  • Other restaurant tasks as required by management or leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English
  • Possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Have a working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes.
  • Possess basic math skills and can handle money and operate a cash register or POS system.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.

Summary of Position: Host/Hostess

Welcome and warmly greet guests on arrival, addressing them by name whenever possible. Manage our guests' efficient and timely seating at a table that best serves their wishes. Will handle incoming phone calls inquiries and client to-go menu orders

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
  • When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
  • When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and the number of people in the party and Provide guests with an estimated waiting time.
  • Call out the name and number of the party when tables become available.
  • Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
  • Seat guest guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
  • Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect the table for proper presentation and completeness.
  • Relay messages to servers and bus persons as needed.
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  • Such other tasks as required of management or leadership.
  • Receive and coordinate incoming to-go menu item orders for guests
