Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area
- Check identification to ensure customers are of legal drinking age
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Monitor customer behavior and intervene as needed to maintain a safe and enjoyable atmosphere
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food orders
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and customer service principles
- Sales skills to upsell and promote drink specials or additional menu items
- Familiarity with brewing techniques, beer styles, and wine varieties
- Ability to handle food safely, including proper storage, preparation, and handling techniques
- Proficient in bartending techniques, including mixing cocktails, pouring beer, and serving wine
- Excellent food service skills, including taking orders, delivering food, and providing exceptional service to customers
- Basic understanding of retail math for cash handling and making change accurately
- Experience with catering events or large group service is a plus
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
- Familiarity with Toast POS system or similar point-of-sale software is preferred
