Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Server is responsible interacting one on one with the guests, creating a bond and make the guest feel comfortable and welcomed. This is a fast-paced position with constant guest interaction. The candidate must be highly motivated, energetic and possess great hospitality skills. We look for a great team player who is ready to deliver a dining experience and help where is needed.
Job responsibilities include; although are not limited to:
- Display a congenial appearance and is well groomed at all times.
- Able to take understand guest preferences, make suggestions about food and wines and take the order including guests modification requests. Attention to details.
- Support Bussers to Clear, clean, reset and maintain restaurant tables during shift.
- Be familiar with all services and promotions offer by the restaurant.
- Assist other Servers to give the best possible service as specified in Restaurant Standards of Service Manual.
- Performing opening/closing duties according to the list provided.
- Completion of side work as assigned by Manager.
- Assist guests in a friendly, professional and polite manner.
- Follow directions from Manager/lead server or Chef at all times.
- Maintain proper uniform, and professional appearance at all times.
*Qualifications and Requisites:
- Prior serving experience with a preferred minimum of 3-5 years in a casual upscale dining restaurant.
- Food Handlers Card required. (must have before start working)
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Team player and able to help to cover any task require to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Must possess basic math skills and the ability to use a calculator.
- Must possess basic computer skills and knowledge of most popular POS system.
- Intermediate knowledge of domestic and Italian wine and beers and cocktails.
- Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.
- Knowledge of Restaurant operations, its services, and facilities.
- Must have superior guest service abilities as well as a complete understanding of California serving guidelines.
- Must be able to correctly ID guests when ordering alcohol.
- Proof of work eligibility in the US.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
