Job Summary:
Raytheon currently has an exciting IT Systems Administrator position available that supports the Raytheon mission of making the world a safer place. We are seeking an experienced Windows/Linux System Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi-disciplined environment. The System Administrator must possess a secret security clearance as they will be responsible for administering systems that contain classified data.
The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Windows/Linux infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internal to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
- Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
- Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
- Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies.
- Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
- Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
- Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have an active Secret US security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience with some of, but not limited to, the following technologies: Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, BackupExec, NetBackup, prior systems administration and networking administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites.
- Experience with Server architectures and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems
- Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Windows desktops (Windows XP, 7, 10), Splunk and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods
- Typically, A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD TS clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
- Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) and an Operating System Certification
- Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
- In-depth working experience in Windows Server
- Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
- Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development
- Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange
- High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment
- Scripting Experience
