Restaurant Servers are the face of our business and demonstrate highly effective customer relations in providing an excellent, memorable and enjoyable dining experience for all restaurant guests. Key responsibilities include setting places at dining tables, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and answering inquiries about menu items as well as maximizing sales by suggestively selling other items on the menu. Restaurant Servers are highly knowledgeable of all Company safety and sanitation policies, procedures, and protocols, skilled at using Point of Sale information (POSi) and other restaurant systems, and flexible in responding to operational needs with a “can-do” approach.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 / hour
Essential Job DutiesGreet guests in a friendly manner within 1 minute of being seated and present them with the menu.
Inform guests of Chef’s Creations/Features and answer any questions about food and beverage.
Take food and beverage orders from guests, suggestively selling specific menu items.
Ring up order on P.O.S. quickly and in proper sequence.
Obtain food items from kitchen or storage area when necessary.
Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication of guests and handling an intoxicated guest.
Maintain table appearance by checking drink levels, changing ashtrays, removing clutter, and providing extra napkins when necessary.
Respond to upset guests and notify manager of situation.
Total bill and present check upon removal of last plate or upon request.
Accept payment and provide change or credit card voucher within 1-3 minutes of guests’ payment.
Give a warm and pleasant farewell to guests and invite them to return.
Complete all necessary side work and tasks as assigned.
Check inventory and restock items.
Check for table assignments, reservations, large parties expected.
Must wear approved manufacturer certified slip resistant or non-slip shoes at all times while working
Participate in and pass alcohol awareness and safety training classes
Education, Experience, & Behavior Requirements:
Education and Certification:
- High School Diploma/GED required
Experience:
- 2 years of experience performing restaurant server duties

- Ability to read and comprehend data sources, written work instructions, policies, procedures and other work materials in English in order to perform essential duties in accordance with safety, sanitation and operational standards and trainings
- Demonstrated skill in the application of point of sale and other information systems to effectively and correctly execute various transactions
- Frequent lifting, moving and carrying of food trays, dinnerware and drinks, furniture, garbage etc. weighing up to 30 pounds across the restaurant
- Regular and prolonged standing and walking inside and outside the restaurant to service tables, deliver food and beverages, clean, sanitize and set up workstations, remove garbage, etc.
- Regular ascending/descending stairs across the restaurant to deliver food, pick up dirty dishware, etc.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Frequent use of hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms
- Constant bending, stooping and turning to serve food and beverages, remove dirty plate/glassware, dispose of garbage, etc.
