Job Title: Server
Location: 3935 Sunnyside Dr., Harrisonburg VA 22801; Highlands Dining
Hours: Part Time. 4PM-8PM shifts, every other weekend & rotating holidays required. Flexible scheduling available.
Position Overview and General Responsibilities:
Sunnyside's on-site restaurant, The Tartan Grill, provides full menu services to residents and guests daily. Our Servers help create a warm and welcoming environment to those that dine with us. By the end of your first day, you will have met the friendliest people who truly invest in building a relationship with you. This is an opportunity to work in the food industry with no late-nights. The primary responsibilities of the Server are to provide excellent food service and hospitality in our upscale casual environment. In order to be successful in this role, we are looking for someone that is quick on their feet, greets everyone with a smile, is comfortable working with older adults, and knows how to work as a team.

- Having prior experience in restaurant/dining field is a plus.
- Ability to process information accurately, make appropriate decisions and take appropriate action based upon the information available.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach to engaging with all individuals.
Physical & Environmental Considerations:
This job operates indoors in a general kitchen and dining room environment with varying floor surfaces.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to routinely sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 30 lbs or less and occasionally more than 50 lbs. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. General hazards related to operation of kitchen equipment as well as exposure to sanitizing and cleaning chemicals and wet floor surfaces which require slip-resistant shoes. Minimal hazards if universal precautions are followed.
