Overview:
The Server Deployment Engineer will lead the deployment and configuration of servers for the CCU refresh project. This role involves managing day-to-day troubleshooting of server issues and collaborating with vendors for swift resolutions.

High-Level Project Goals:
- Provide crucial support for the Classroom Connectivity Project, focusing on school server integration.
- Offer expertise in Quality Assurance, provisioning, deployment, and maintenance of server technologies within schools as part of the Classroom Connectivity project.
MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the following areas:
- Supporting server upgrades, including the latest Windows Operating System and hardware, involving installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- TCP/IP server/client communication, DHCP, DNS, WINS for at least 7 years.
- Utilizing scripting tools (Python, PowerShell, etc.) for system administration for at least 3 years.
- Installing Virtual Machines, configuration, and troubleshooting for at least 7 years.
- Server hardware troubleshooting for at least 3 years.
- Network support with LAN troubleshooting for at least 3 years.
- Utilizing system management software tools for monitoring, managing, and reporting system performance for at least 3 years.
PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science/telecommunications.
- Certification in Server+, MCSE, or Expert Knowledge in RedHat Linux.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical issues confidently to a non-technical audience.
- Detail-oriented and process-oriented.
OUTLINE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support for the Classroom Connectivity Tech Refresh Project for Schools Server Integration in all five boroughs.
- Configure two Windows 2019, 2022 Core physical servers and five virtual servers per site (3 Windows VMs and 2 Linux VMs).
- Configure Remote Access Cards, Active Directory, and validate DNS resource records.
- Troubleshoot and support DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, SNMP, TCP/IP, and WINS.
- Utilize Windows Server configuration and management, with strong PowerShell scripting experience.
- Develop, maintain, and upgrade scripts for system management and automation.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems during and after server integration.
- Provide hardware assistance and perform testing on servers.
- Document all work efforts to support server integration for sites.
- Maintain a Server Deployment log and submit a weekly summary report to management.
- Interact with end-users and vendors to resolve logistic issues with equipment.
- Provide assistance with servers, LAN, and network integration.
- Offer end-user support to different vendors by phone or on-site.
- Respond to support issues during and after integration as needed.
- Create, track, and manage service requests and incidents using our CSM.
- Be available to provide expertise and support for issues beyond the scope of the Classroom Connectivity Tech Refresh Project.
