Separation Books and Records Lead - Cigna Encore Program

Please Note: This position is part of Cigna's Encore Program designed exclusively for eligible retirees of The Cigna Group. The work is part-time, temporary, and project-based.

The individual in this role will serve as the lead for development and execution of a Books and Records plan for the HCSC divestiture transaction. This is a critical deliverable related to the definitive agreement that Cigna entered with HCSC on January 31, 2024 to divest its Medicare Advantage, Cigna Supplemental Benefits, Medicare Part D and CareAllies businesses to HCSC. The role will provide leadership for the orderly transfer of dedicated Books and Records used to manage the divested business to HCSC over a reasonable timeframe. The following are some of the specific deliverables and activities for the role:

• Serve as Cigna lead for Books and Records plan execution for the HCSC divestiture transaction.

• Develop plan for transfer of Books and Records to HCSC, which will include the following:

  • Definition of data transfer categories and data sources, distinguishing between ordinary data and special data while also ensuring only relevant records as outlined in the purchase agreement are transferred.

  • Definition of retention standards for records post deal closing

  • Proposed disposition strategy of data, organized into categories, including application data, email, user documents on shared repositories, and physical records

• Ensure development and execution of attestations from employees related to records review after close consultation with legal on requirements.

• Create and document a data transfer process, including data transfer tracking and receipt confirmation protocols.

• Develop data sharing agreement as needed.

• Manage consultants and provide oversight on the tactical work that they and the workstreams are doing to ensure appropriate progress against Cigna commitments.

• Provide workstream updates to Separation Management Office as appropriate.

• Interact with HCSC Books and Records lead to coordinate plans and objectives.

• Development and oversight of governance process related to Books and Records, in partnership with the HCSC Books and Records Lead.
