The Focus on the Family Internship Program provides valuable experience, professional and spiritual development, and lasting friendships for over 30 college upperclassmen each summer. Focus on the Family is a Christian non-profit media ministry that offers practical, everyday help to families at every age and stage of their journey. The Digital Marketing department focuses on optimizing the online presence and visibility of Fous on the Family, ensuring a seamless user experience, and driving traffic to our website to increase conversions. Digital Marketing also acts as a service provider to the entire ministry in designing and creating landing pages, templates, forms, QR codes, and many other digital projects to ensure success of key ministry initiatives. As a SEO and Digital Marketing Intern you would be an integral part of enhancing and optimizing the Focus on the Family website.
What a day in the life looks like:

• Analyze current website problems and strategize to address issues
• Fix 404 errors
• Optimize redirect system
• Identify and update outdated content
• Create a system for continuing to identify and update content
• Audit the image library
• Measure user engagement and SEO rankings
• Research new trends and best practices for SEO
• Participate in Digital Marketing meetings
• Work alongside User Experience intern

Our goals are for you to:

• Learn best practices for Digital Marketing
• Learn about key SEO strategies
• Gain experience in tracking results and metrics
• Gain experience in website development
• Participate in troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions
• Present findings to the team and proposed solutions
• Train team on how to use solutions created during internship

What makes you an ideal candidate for the Digital Marketing team:

• Majoring in Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Marketing or similar
• Experience with website design
• Basic understanding of UX design principles and SEO
• Interest and/or experience in Digital Marketing
• Developing understanding of HTML/CSS
• Strong analytical skills
• Willingness to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently
• Teachable and excited to learn new things

Additional Notes:
This position is an intern position only. There will be no compensation or pay with this position, but a $2500 honorarium, workday lunch, and housing for out-of-town students will be provided.
Only upperclassmen college students need apply for the summer internship.
Transportation is the responsibility of the intern and may be a condition of acceptance.
