Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Lab Operations Manager. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel - Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.
What You'll Get To Do:

  • Supervisory and management responsibilities for the Weapon System Integration Laboratories assigned to the Sentinel program, to include design, build, integration, operations and maintenance.
  • Manages within the larger organizational unit, operating to objectives and providing guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives & company policy.
  • Lab Operations Manager responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for all facets of SIL operations, maintenance, and scheduling. Works with internal customers to utilize the Hardware in the Loop (HITL) test assets. Ensures assets are available to support key program milestones
  • Planning, risk management, and project performance addressing cost, schedule, and technical quality for the System Test IPT Lab Operations Team
  • Provides guidance to subordinates based on organizational goals and company policy. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organizations objectives and schedules.
  • Regularly requires analysis of alternative courses of action. Decisions have risk/reward implications for program or area of influence.
  • Responsible for all projects assigned to the organizational group. Advisor to discipline managers and exempt employees. Helps meet established schedules or resolve technical or operational problems. Typically accomplishes results through lower level(s) of management or exempt employees.
  • Establishes operating procedures that affect organizational unit(s). Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to organizational policies. Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect subordinate organizational units.
  • Develops and administers budgets and standards of performance.
  • Accomplishes results through subordinate supervisors, or exempt specialist employees.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree & 8 years of experience; or Masters degree and 6 years of experience; 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a formal lead/management position to include performance reviews for direct report.
  • Experience in managing integration labs.
  • 1 year of experience as a control account manager (CAM).

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • US Citizenship with an Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
  • Masters of Science degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Experience in managing large scale system integration labs.
  • 2 years of experience as a control account manager (CAM) managing Discrete, LOE, and Material work packages.
  • Knowledge of configuration management best practices.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and meet program commitments in a highly concurrent engineering environment.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary Range: $138,400.00 - $207,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
