Job Summary
The Food Science and Technology is seeking a Sensory Project Manager. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
Incumbent will coordinate and manage industry sponsored projects related to sensory evaluation of foods and consumer behavior in the OSU Center for Sensory and Consumer Behavior Research. Duties and responsibilities include: 1) coordinate, manage, execute, and analyze sensory and consumer research projects by working with greater consumer product industry (e.g., food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, pet food, personal care, apparel, cosmetics), 2) hire, train and supervise waged student employees in the implementation of Sensory Projects, 3) communicate with current and potential clients and collaborators, 4) provide appropriate quotes and invoices to industry partners, 5) purchase necessary supplies and gifts cards, 6) support the educational mission of the Center by participating in outreach activities, and 7) assist undergraduate and graduate students working on basic and applied research covering a wide range of sensory science.
The Project Manager will provide the leadership in managing all programs that are involved in the Center, work in close collaboration with the Center's director, and hire and manage undergraduate and staff personnel. As a result, a key requirement of the position is strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal skills, and willingness to engage with a diverse group of students and coworkers. Incumbent will report to Juyun Lim, Professor of Sensory Science.

What You Will Need
Master's degree or equivalent degree in Sensory or Consumer Science, or related fields.
Familiar with a wide range of sensory techniques (i.e., discrimination tests, threshold tests, descriptive analysis, acceptance test, and qualitative research) and data analysis methods (z-test, t-test, ANOVA, and post-hoc tests).
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals.
Ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt well to changes.
Ability to maintain timelines for multi-tasking projects.
Ability to manage projects from concept building to reporting.
Ability to work independently.
Comfortable adopting new technologies.
A demonstrable commitment to diversity, equity and inclusiveness, including the ability to work with diverse faculty, students, industry clientele, and stakeholders.

What We Would Like You to Have
Experience in product development, business, or marketing.
Experience with recruiting new clients and/or securing new contracts.
Record of successful experience in experimental design, statistics, project management, and managing individuals with diverse backgrounds.
Experience in using data collection software (e.g., Compusense, Red Jade, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, social media)
Experience in maintaining web-site
Experience with mentoring or supervising students or employees.
