With 36 Ice Cream factories across the globe, we produce 3.5 million litons of Ice Cream each year and employ more than 8,200 joymakers. We have 35 brands, including 3 one billion Euro brands (Magnum, Wall's, Ben & Jerry's), in over 60 countries.
North America is a 2.8 billion Euro business, which makes it our second most important Business Unit. Winning back market share while ensuring we have industry-leading productivity is key and the IC SC BU Lead plays a critical role in that mission. The role is responsible for 5 factories, oversees 8 direct reports and a SC team of 2,600 employees.
JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Vice President Supply ChainIce Cream North America is responsible for the Business Unit strategy and end-to-end performance of the Supply Chain. They will lead people and activities in the factories, Category planning, Process and Technology, CM (Collaborate Manufacturing), and logistics interface to achieve end-to-end Supply Chain success in the BU. This role will also be responsible for ensuring the SC BU performance whist managing the transformation needed in IC SC North America.
The Senior Vice President develops and leads the North America Leadership Team to implement and sustain Supply Chain and category strategies, including those in safety, quality, World Class Manufacturing, employee relations, performance management and development of talent. As part of the IC SC Leadership team, the role also contributes to shaping the overall Supply Chain agenda for Ice Cream, leading critical initiatives for the BG for higher business impact & sharing best practices across the network.
The North America role specifically has two parts to it of Transform and Perform. There is a large Transformation agenda in play for the Supply Chain which will run over a 2-3 year period but there is also a significant job to be done in ensuring Performance in the short term.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The details below capture the expectations from the role at an aggregated level. However, the focus may differ based on context and functional priorities. The key highlights of responsibilities can be described in the following areas:
Leading Supply Chain for the Business Unit
  • Developing and implementing Supply Chain strategies that align with the BG's overall goals. This includes demand planning, supply planning, and production planning, demonstrating a clear end-to-end Supply Chain knowledge.
  • Managing the SC transformation needed in the BU is landed whilst maintaining operational excellence.
  • Continuously analyse and optimise Supply Chain processes to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. This involves streamlining operations, adopting new technologies, and improving logistics and distribution networks.
  • Has ultimate responsibility for the performance of the factories within the BU, setting targets and following key SC strategic thrusts, including service, cost, and waste.
  • Ensures the Supply Chain operations comply with local and international regulations, ethical standards, and environmental sustainability practices. This includes monitoring the environmental impact of Supply Chain activities and implementing sustainable practices, aligning with the USLP.
  • Leads the implementation of BU Manex Programs including UMS, ensuring implementation of plans in line with strategic imperatives of the BG.
  • Manages and controls Supply Chain costs, including transportation, warehousing, procurement, and production costs, to ensure the financial health of the Supply Chain operation.
  • Works closely with Customer Operations to ensure an effective distribution strategy for the BU.
  • Manages relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure a reliable supply of quality materials and services.
  • Ensures the right sourcing strategy for the BU, working closely with Procurement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Long-term strategic capacity planning, capex plan and assets light plan: capacity and capability to support long-term business growth.

Contribute to the overall SC agenda for the Ice Cream Business Group.
As part of the Business Group SC leadership team, this role contributes to designing and implementing key SC strategies for the Ice Cream BG. Key responsibilities include:
  • Drive Supply Chain transformation to unlock future potential in North America.
  • Unlock North AmericaSupply Chain agility, capacity, responsiveness and cost efficiency end-to-end.
  • Supply Chain business process optimization and conduct program evaluation toward tech solutions.

Leadership and Capability
Provide leadership, oversight, and guidance to E2E SC Teams by:
  • Promoting a Culture that meets the highest standards of safety and collaboration; creating the right environment for Work.
  • Strong influence into cross BU integrated SC teams as well as Power of One teams in North America.
  • Responsible for development and performance management of all direct reports and joint developing and performance input for BU indirect report managers.
  • Develop the next generation of Supply Chain leaders in North America to guarantee a strong pipeline for the future.
  • Build future-fit Supply Chain capability across the BU.

What You'll Need To Succeed
Professional Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years in a Supply Chain role (Manufacturing, Category planning, Technology, EHS, Quality).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a role leading an entire factory, preferably at the Director level.
  • SOP planning experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Foods Industry, Ice Cream or Cold Chain is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) is strongly preferred.
  • Solid SC experience in North America is a must.

Leadership:
  • Passion for high performance, personal mastery and resilient; can work and perform under a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
  • Strong and agile influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Team management and development.

Education & Skill:
  • Bachelor or above degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field is preferred

Pay: The pay range for this position is $293,600 - $587,200. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
