Position: SVP- Consumer Lending

DH/CTH/Contract: DH

Duration: Perm

Location/Remote: 100% on site- Adrian,MI

Salary/Pay Rate: $130-150K

Start Date: January

Keys:

  • Must have Consumer Lending experience (personal loans like auto loans)
  • 5+ years experience working for a Credit Union is ideal but if not a Credit Union then a bank
  • Finance and Loan background
  • Managerial experience

SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing the administration, planning ,development, implementation, and maintenance of the lending department at TLC Community Credit Union. Lending departments consists of, consumer lending team, mortgage operations and lending staff, collections department, and commercial lending department. Works with and guides direct reporting staff on appropriate policies, procedures, and training to ensure efficient and effective lending. Supervises budgets, business performance, promoting optimal and cost affective lending operations. Manages and implements projects related to lending and collections. Mentors and appraises direct reports while supporting and promoting profitable goals and objectives

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • In collaboration with other executive staff, and skilled and trusted departmental employees, develops, implements, operates, maintains, and controls the essential operating systems, information, and lending business of the company.
  • Defines and implements key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the department and, as appropriate, the entire organization; facilitates measurement of those objectives, reporting results to the executive team.
  • Drafts and implements policies and best practices to support achievement of objectives and required standards.
  • Drafts business plans for new products, services, and markets.
  • Ensures availability of adequate and appropriate equipment, staffing, and systems; recommends additional staffing and services.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, all other items as deemed necessary by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Managerial staff in the Lending areas. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Five or more years of experience in financial lending.
  • Requires a college degree in business administration or related field.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Requires Strong supervisory and leadership skills along with Solid analytical abilities. Good organizational and problem-solving abilities. Excellent interpersonal and Communication skills.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

  • Lending services are efficiently and effectively delivered in accordance with established Credit Union policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations. Adequate internal controls are in place.
  • Appropriate Lending policies, procedures, and training are developed and updated as needed.
  • Loan volumes, expenses, and profitability are in line with Credit Union standards.
  • Good business relations exist with members and their needs are properly anticipated and satisfied.
  • Lending Managers/Supervisors and personnel are well trained, effective, and their activities are well coordinated. Assistance and support are provided as needed.
  • Required reports and records are accurate and timely.
  • Senior Management is appropriately informed of lending activities and of any significant problems. Suggestions for improved efficiency or effectiveness are provided and integrated into planning processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $135,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
