Job description

As a Senior User Experience Designer, Associate you will be a part of the Chase Co-brand portfolio team which partner with well-known companies in travel, dining, entertainment, and shopping. You will conceptualize, structure, and detail our User Experiences within the context of a product and broader set of user journeys. You will partner with stakeholders in product, engineering, and data to solve problems all way from initial strategy to execution. This role allows you to continually broaden and improve your skills by exhibiting comfort with ambiguity and understanding of how to strategically use the design process to solve problems. 

Financial management tools should demonstrate the same care and craft as consumer software, designed with contemporary human-centered practices. Senior User Experience Designers are part of multi-disciplinary teams, including Experience Researchers and Content Designers, committed to designing the future of banking. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and re-design product experiences across our Co-Brand Cardofferings 
  • Participate in upfront user research to better understand user needs and behaviors, and usability testing to see how your solutions work for users, with the support and guidance of Experience Researchers 
  • Advocate for the users' perspective when collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers to plan roadmaps, gather requirements, and structure the work 
  • Explore design solutions at various levels of fidelity by sketching and prototyping different options, including unexpected, but still workable solutions 
  • Diagram the interactivity of product and services ecosystems, including Omni-channel service and feature interactions, with user flows, wireframes, and service maps 
  • Deliver product-ready detailed UI design, built upon our Design System, that brings our solutions to life 
  • Present work to our partners, connecting design decisions to desired business impact 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant design discipline (e.g., Interaction Design, Human Computer Interface, User Experience Design), certification from credible bootcamp or similar accelerated learning program, or equivalent work experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in prior work involves collaboration within design teams (with other designers, UX researchers, and content designers) and cross-functionally with product managers and software engineers 
  • Self-directed, ownership mindset in both planning and structuring work and executing at expected levels of quality 
  • Advanced skills in Interaction Design as well as either Visual/UI Design or Information Architecture; Intermediate ability in adjacent skills such as User Research, UX Writing, and Prototyping 
  • Able to show how your understanding of technical constraints and opportunities informed your design solutions 
  • Comfortable and confident when presenting work to cross-functional Directors 
  • Excellent communication skills, involving both written communication as well as developing softer skills (e.g., active listening, influence modeling, etc.) 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Advocate for Accessibility Guidelines and Inclusive Design practices 
  • Has shipped multiple successful digital products, demonstrating user- and human-centered design approaches 
  • Familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, frameworks such as React, and mobile UI standards across both Android and iOS 
  • Demonstrated understanding of how design connects with broader business value 
  • Previous experience in brand strategy.  
  • Previous work or interest in design/experience design for retail, travel, dining, or entertainment.
