Primary Objective: The Senior UI/UX Designer is passionate about all aspects of the Spectrio customer journey while strongly focused on leveraging scalable design systems to help modernize and influence growth throughout all digital and traditional touchpoints.
Responsibilities:
- User Research and Analysis: Conducting user research, interviews, and surveys to understand user needs and preferences. This information is used to create customer journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes for CMS interface.
- Visual and Interactive Design: Overseeing the visual design process, focusing on interactive elements of CMS applications and websites. This includes designing layouts, graphics, and other visual aspects to enhance user experience.
- Collaboration with Teams: Working closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and evaluate user requirements. This collaboration ensures that the design aligns with both user needs and business goals.
- Design System Solutions: Providing research and data-driven design solutions that balance user needs, business objectives, and quality assurance requirements. This may involve developing and maintaining design systems and standards.
- Strategic Vision and Execution: Contributing to the vision and strategy for CMS user experience, potentially including the creation of best-in-class homepage experiences and innovative design features.
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Collaboratively help lead, develop, maintain and execute on a scalable company-wide design system, providing UX research, UI design, front-end development, direction and helping to improve the quality of the overall customer journey.
- Influence marketing/product strategy and contextualize high-level decisions and direction for your team. Function as a strategic partner for all members of the Customer Experience team.
- Expect continual hands-on design work, pitching in on smaller project execution as well as large scale design efforts, offering support to multiple departments as needed.
- Provide mentorship and champion the craft and career development of all creative design members of the team, while creating a safe haven so designers can accomplish their best work.
- Promote a world-class design practice, influence marketing and product design strategies, as well as ensuring product execution.
- Build relationships with cross-functional team members from Marketing, Engineering, Product, and Data Science and speak to product strategy, design goals, and execution.
- Work internally and with external agencies to continue to push the bar of excellence for internal CX/UX efforts.
- Advocate for user research for the needs of the product and meet with internal and external users to gain first-hand experience.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in marketing, software development or a related field.
- 5+ years managing design languages in the development of software and marketing strategies as well as the ability to build, mentor and motivate teams.
- Diverse portfolio of work personally designed and shipped along with examples of work directed and delivered by your team.
- 8+ years experience in digital products (emphasis on web and native), and knowledge working with a wide range of UI Design, Visual Design and UX Research patterns in a technical environment or complex product suite.
- A history of (and enjoyment in) championing best practices, while creating scalable design components across multiple systems.
- A willingness to not only work in cutting edge design programs (Figma, Sketch, XD), but an extreme level of familiarity with building out the front end code required to brings these design systems to market at scale (Storybook, SCSS, Vue, React, Angular, Wordpress, etc.)
- Agency experience is a strong plus.
