Gannett Fleming is looking for a highly-motivated Senior Transportation Engineer to join our Ohio team. The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of experience in highway and maintenance of traffic design. This position can be from the Cleveland or Columbus area. Hybrid work environment should be expected. Project management opportunities are available if desired.    

Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering design tasks for highway projects from preliminary to final design
• Develop construction contract documents, such as specifications, cost estimates and review construction documents such as shop and working drawings.
• Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers especially in ODOT and local governments
• Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans
• Collaborate with highway staff to develop projects
• Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers
• Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance
• Works as part of a project team within the highway disciplines.
• Deputy PM and PM opportunities are available if desired.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
• PE required
• 10+ years of experience working in Traffic and Highway/Roadway design. Maintenance of Traffic design experience is preferred.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have the ability to interface with all levels of personnel and management.
• Experience working with Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Required
• Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer (preferred), ProjectWise and Microsoft Office
• Local candidates preferred
