This position, under the direction of the Director - Technical Learning, performs various aspects of training support for solar plants for the Asset Optimization (AO) group. This position plays a vital role in training field technicians, asset managers, and AO leaders on theory of operation with hands on practicals that provides real life trouble shooting training and on various renewable energy assets.
- Travel to EDF sites and the training center to conduct classroom and on the job training. Assist and train field crews in renewable component theory, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy assets, and troubleshooting best practices
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers in the research, development, and preparation of clear, concise, and engaging course content in accordance with EDFR qualification standards
- Assist fleet technicians with procedure development, review, and verification
- Ensure training is in compliance with company, local, state, and federal regulations
- Work with the Health, Safety and Environment Sustainability (HSES) department to assess the effectiveness of new and current procedures
- Research/explore developing technologies, hardware, testing and troubleshooting processes for EDF Renewables to find effective means to present it to the field
- Other duties as assigned
- 5 years experience working in the renewable energy industry
- 3+ years’ experience conducting classroom and, on the job, (OJT) training
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to plan and schedule training events and prioritize tasks based on greatest need
- Demonstrate leadership by mentoring EDF personnel ensuring EDF policies & procedures are in full compliance
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with all levels of field technicians, supervisors, and management
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Ability to work in a mechanical environment. This may be achieved through formal training or previous work experience
- Extensive knowledge of multiple renewable energy platforms and components
- Ability to conduct classroom training and engage the adult learner with different styles of learning
- Ability to maintain a valid driver license
Preferred
- 7 years experience working in the renewable energy industry
- Bachelor's degree electrical or mechanical engineering
This role’s target base salary range is between $105,000 - $125,000 annually.
