Full Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Tax Preparer & Department Lead to join our team, assuming a leadership role in overseeing our Tax Prep division for approximately 35-40 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of federal and state individual and business income tax returns, utilizing Intuit ProSeries tax software.
- Utilize IRS wage and income transcripts effectively.
- Manage and prioritize tasks using our internal task management software, Karbon.
- Act as the go-to person within the company for all tax-related matters.
- Assist fractional CFO clients with tax planning strategies and planning.
- Communicate with clients to request necessary information and follow up for signed tax returns.
- Prepare various tax forms for personal, business, S-Corp, LLCs, foreign income, etc.
- Ensure compliance with strict tax return preparation quotas and deadlines.
- Provide guidance and support to clients throughout the tax preparation process, addressing their inquiries and concerns.
Qualifications:
- IRS registration with a valid PTIN.
- CTEC or Enrolled Agent license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or a minimum of 10-15 years of tax preparation experience at a firm.
- Extensive experience in preparing various types of tax forms including business, personal, foreign income, etc.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to clients.
- Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and responsiveness to client communications.
- Familiarity with tax software, preferably Pro Series.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Advanced phone skills, including active listening and empathetic communication.
