Senior Tax Manager
Job Brief
Our firm, Rikard & Neal CPAs, is looking for a seasoned Senior Tax Manager, to work with our Managing Partner and another Senior Tax Manager to participate in all activity levels of the Firm’s tax business to render quality & timely tax services to our clients while ensuring the profitability and efficient operations of the Firm. Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients:
· Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within time frame
· Direct multiple engagements & serve the tax needs of our varied client tax base, including both individual tax clients and entity clients (small to medium size businesses).
· Act as advisor to clients helping them make rational tax decisions and maximize tax engagements. Advise individuals and the management of corporations on how to manage tax burdens and avoid tax risks.
· Review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, benefit funds, real estate, and exempt organizations.
· Knowledgeable of other compliance requirements of clients such as Sales & Use Tax reporting, Payroll tax reporting, Property tax & other required annual filings. Supervise such compliance obligations in a timely fashion.
· Research and, when needed, prepare correspondence ready to be submitted to relevant taxing authorities, including the IRS and Treasury Department.
· If needed, review and/or prepare GAAP financial tax provisions for corporations and preparing the consolidated Federal and annual State tax returns.
· Ensure that advice to clients is always in compliance with all local, state, and federal tax laws.
· Keep abreast with emerging tax laws and trends
· Assist clients with tax audits
Build new and maintain existing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business:
· Take incoming calls from clients to answer tax preparation process questions
· Handling communication from clients and tax authorities
· Ensure confidentiality of each client
· As needed participate in corporate structure, divestitures, mergers and acquisitions; financial reporting; litigation support; earnings & profit analysis; inventory and other tax accounting procedures.
Work with Senior Management with all aspects of Firm management:
· Assist with engagement planning, organizing & delegating efficiency maximization, quality goals achievement, productivity/realization maximation
· Assist with billing, collecting and maintaining Firm profitability
· Develop and motivate Firm personnel
o Supervise & guide other tax personnel to perform tax services
o Mentor and give constructive feedback
o Provide developmental training and identify needs for outside training needs
Other responsibilities and duties:
· Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices
· Assist in oversight of administrative and back-office personnel & processes
Requirements
· A proven working experience as a Tax Manager is very important to succeed at the senior level of this job - a minimum of 7 to 10 years work experience is required.
· BA in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, and/or MA in Taxation is required.
· CPA certification is required.
