THE ROLE


As the Senior Tax Accountant, you will be joining a fully remote US tax team that consists of one other Senior Tax Accountant and the Americas Regional Tax Manager. This role will assist with US and Canada tax issues, plus ad-hoc LATAM tax projects, for a growing software company. You will also collaborate with Temenos tax and finance colleagues in the US and around the world. OPPORTUNITES

  • You will assist in annual year-end tax provision calculation in US and Canada, including roll forward and reconciliation of ending book-tax deferred balances.
  • You will assist in the Federal TI calculation, including data collection, data analysis, and creation of supporting workpapers for preparation of US and Canada CIT returns by our Big 4 US and Canada tax teams; review of those prepared returns and supporting workpapers; and the preparation of return-to-provision calculation.
  • You will assist in data collection and analysis for preparation of US foreign entity forms (5471/8858/5472/GILTI) by our Big 4 US tax team; and review of those prepared forms and supporting workpapers.
  • You will assist in data collection and analysis related to intercompany transactions and balances, including the tracking of transfer pricing adjustments to US and Canada entities.
  • You will assist in the US and Canada GST sales tax compliance process, including analyzing sales data, responding to sales, and billing team sales tax questions, preparing sales tax and Canada GST workpapers, and e-filing of SUT returns.
  • You will assist in overseeing our externally managed OneSource Indirect (OITS) sales tax tool, including OITS / Oracle configuration and testing, and liaising with our internal Oracle database team that maintains OITS exemption certificate manager.
  • You will assist in assessing and monitoring State nexus for both corporate income and sales tax purposes.
  • You will assist with balance sheet reconciliations of accrued fees and tax expense GL accounts.
  • You will assist with tax notices and audits, tax research (RIA Checkpoint, IBFD / Orbitax), and ad hoc tax projects, such as income withholding tax (WHT), basic treaty analysis, M&A, and high-level review of Americas local country corporate income tax returns.
  • You will assist in identifying and implementing process and workpaper improvements to enhance clarity and accuracy.
  • You will assist in assessing US tax team priorities and the time required to complete, including determining the allocation of team time and external consultant resources.


SKILLS

  • You should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • You should have 3+ years' experience in a US in-house corporate tax department and/or Public Accounting, with demonstrated expertise in Federal Income tax and Deferred Tax Accounting (ASC 740).
  • You should have significant experience analyzing financial data in excel, including SumIFs, VLOOKUP’s, and pivot tables.
  • You should have the ability to prepare clear and concise workpapers that build from financial details to a high-level summary of the tax position to be supported, and that include appropriate tie-outs to the GL and/or tax return.
  • You should have the ability to assess the accuracy of data received from internal or external sources; to provide a high-level assessment of reasonableness of that data; and pursue explanatory support, as needed.
  • You should have the ability to prepare clear and concise written summaries, emails, and audit-ready documentation.
  • You should have the ability to work independently, and to proactively collaborate with other members of the tax and finance team, as needed.
  • You should be able to manage multiple tasks, determine priorities, and track open projects.
  • You should have experience with an accounting ERP. Expertise in a tax compliance or tax calculation software is a plus.
