JOB SUMMARY:
Contributes specialized knowledge and skill in Income Tax, maintains tax records, and is responsible for all aspects of Income Tax for multiple legal entities, domestically and internationally.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Income Tax:
    • Facilitate the preparation and review the Company's Income Tax provision as dictated by ASC 740
    • Facilitate the preparation and review company federal tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms; domestic and foreign
    • Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state and local Income Tax returns and other business related filings
    • Facilitate the implementation of transfer pricing policies and implementation including Country by Country Reporting and other BEPS directives
    • Assist in implementing strategic tax planning for all necessary federal, state, and international taxes
    • Maintain overall return calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with tax team
    • Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
    • Facilitate IRS Income Tax audits: preparing/reviewing responses, creating schedules, etc.
    • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
    • Research Accounting Standard Updates ("ASU") related to Income Taxes as well as research how any non-Income Tax related ASUs will affect Income Taxes
    • Oversee and coach income Tax Accountant
    • Maintain incentive reporting packages
    • Review initial responses to Income Tax notices

    • General Accounting:
    • Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations of key accounts as assigned
    • Complete accounting functions in accordance with established policies and procedures
    • Participate in the monthly general ledger closing process including reconciliation of accounts
    • Responsible for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving accounting problems and discrepancies

    • Culture: Promote a culture of compliance and attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality 
    • Due to continual changes in tax regulations, continuing education is required
    • Senior, Income Tax
    • Professional role requiring high skill with extensive proficiency. Can work independently but is able to take direction from leadership. Has the ability to overcome obstacles and recognizes early when issues should be escalated, or a senior peer needs to be consulted. Wide latitude for independent judgment and is expected to provide guidance and cross-training to others. Effectively communicates with all levels of technical and non-technical personnel. Consults with senior peers on moderate to complex processes to learn through experience. Typically requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years' professional tax experience filing returns in multi-state locations. Little to no travel involved. Certification is favorable.
REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience required
    • Master's Degree in Accounting or Tax preferred
    • 3+ years of experience in a tax senior or public accountant role; informal coaching or mentoring preferred
    • Experience with ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes required
    • Due to continual changes in tax regulations, continuing education is required
