Senior Tableau Developer

Client First Technologies is seeking a Tableau Developer/Administrator who work with our client on-site in the DC area. They will serve as the primary resource responsible for developing and modifying reports and dashboards, providing connections to new and existing data sources, preparing data for use in Tableau, developing extracts, publishing data sources and workbooks, developing custom scripts and coordinating releases of data and workbooks. Also serves as a backup to the Lead Tableau Administrator and supports general Tableau administration tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance and support visualizations and highly interactive dashboards, scorecards and reports including:
• Preparing data for use by Tableau.
• Establishing connections to Data Sources.
• Adding or Creating Dimensions, Measures and Calculations.
• Performing Data Modeling in Tableau Desktop.
• Developing Workbooks and Hyper Extracts on Tableau Desktop.
• Publishing Workbooks and Data Sources to Tableau Development and QA sites.
• Refreshing Extracts on Development and QA sites.
• Monitoring the status of extract schedules on QA site.
• Resolving any data or performance issues related to workbooks and data sources.
• Work with various databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle) to define, execute and interpret complex SQL queries for analytical reporting purposes
• Create interactive filters, parameters and calculated fields for preparing dashboards and worksheets in Tableau.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in dashboard/report development
• 2+ years of relevant experience in Tableau administration
• Experience in a customer–facing role, including comprehending business needs, solving complex problems, and capturing business requirements to convert them into technical requirements
• Experience with Agile delivery programs
• Must be able to work quickly with a high degree of accuracy with cross-functional teams
• Experience performing Tableau Server administration tasks including Tableau server upgrade optimization and performance tuning

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with PowerBI

Physical Demands

• Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time

Required Clearances

• The ability to pass a VA Moderate Background Investigation (MBI)

Pay: $102,962.82 - $123,998.23 per year
