Responsibilities:
Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of turnkey automation projects company's OEM Control Systems.
Design AutoCad Electrical Schematics in compliance with UL508A protocols.
Develop Application Software for company's OEM Control Systems.
Lead or participate in larger automation projects.
Interface with the company's ERP system.
Collaborate with customers to define machine control specifications for custom applications.
Recommend control panel hardware and coordinate material purchases.
Oversee the construction of electrical assemblies by the manufacturing department.
Coordinate commissioning and debugging of hardware and software in-house and on-site.
Work with the Mechanical Engineering Department on custom machine builds.
Establish and implement companywide standards for company's OEM Application Software and AutoCad Electrical Schematics.
Interface with Sales Group and/or Customers:
Participate in the discovery phase of new Control/Turnkey System opportunities.
Contribute to the determination of control system bills of material for customer quotes.
Provide estimated Non-Recurring Engineering hours for quoting opportunities.
Provide estimated Recurring Engineering hours for debugging, commissioning, and assembly of control systems.
Determine sequence of events and flow-chart routines for complex automation projects.
Provide support to the customer service department, including phone and on-site support.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Electrical or Electro-Mechanical.
8 years of experience as a systems controls engineer with expertise in Industrial Motion Control Applications.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office, AutoCad Electrical, C++/C, Python.
Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
Experience with Industrial Automation Platforms: CODESYS, Beckhoff, BoschRexroth, B&R Automation, Siemens Simatics, Schneider Electric, Rockwell Automation, Omron, and others.
Knowledge of Communication Protocols such as EtherCat, CANopen, J1939, UDS, DS301, DS402, Modbus/TCP, Ethernet/IP, and Profinet.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across functional teams and with clients.
Ability to travel 15% to 20%.
