Senior Systems Administrator

Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

The Senior Systems Administratorwill lead a team and/or work independently to create diverse design solutions that meet customer/business objectives by integrating hardware, software, network, processes, etc. into solutions for new and existing systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement system solutions for customers using technologies that meet their needs.
  • Design, document, and/or develop requirements from project inception to conclusion with the best cost-effective solution to meet program requirements.
  • Work as an effective team member and/or lead a team to provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure customer/business mission is meeting deliverables.
  • Ensure strict adherence to departmental policies and procedures such as change management, configuration management, and security and access control
  • Applies Cyber Security Engineering and Network Security Engineering expertise to optimize protection posture.
  • Work as an effective team member or lead a team to address and resolve technical (hardware, software, network, etc.) problems; process critical information and data establish business and technical boundaries and constraints; and draw conclusions necessary to deliver optimal and cost-effective solutions that meet our customer's functional and business requirements.
  • Train and mentor new hires and subordinates.
  • May be required to provide daily supervision and direction to support the team in compliance with Policies and Procedures and applicable laws.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
  • 7+ years designing and developing enterprise-class systems, hardware, software, etc. solutions
    • professional experience in IT development, or networking, or system administration, and/or IT operations
  • Cloud experience needed
  • Knowledgeable with Linux
  • Management experience preferred
  • Security+ certification or higher required
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it.
