Senior Systems Administrator
The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues, managing network and server systems, and assist in maintaining overall IT infrastructure. This role provides technical expertise throughout the offices within the Americas while realizing the strategic goals of Corporate Headquarters. Responsibilities:
- System Administration:
- Administer, configure, and maintain servers, including Windows and Linux-based systems.
- Manage virtualization environments, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Manage public cloud environments, such as AWS or Azure
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support 24/7 business operation.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats and best practices.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Hardware and Software Management:
- Procure and manage IT hardware and software assets.
- Assist in software installation, updates, and license management.
- User Support:
- Provide advanced technical support to end-users and resolve complex IT issues.
- Collaborate with the Help Desk team to handle escalated support requests.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, processes, and configurations.
- Generate regular reports on system performance, security, and compliance.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the company goals and objectives.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior IT staff.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent technical professional experience required.
- Minimum five (5) years of IT experience. Proven experience as a Systems Administrator in a senior or lead role, with a focus on enterprise-level IT systems.
- Strong technical experience in areas such as Windows/Linux server administration, virtualization, networking, storage and database management.
- Demonstrated use of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (IaC knowledge is a plus) to streamline administrative tasks.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT service management practices.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
