Senior Systems Administrator

What You'll Do:
We are looking for a well-rounded Sr. System Administrator to join the IT Infrastructure team at Backroads. As the Sr. System Administrator, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and security of Backroads systems. As part of the IT team, you will also be responsible for developing and improving processes and functions.
Responsibilities:

• Proactively identify and address process inefficiencies and compliance issues through strategic solutions.
• Participate in the planning and deployment of corporate-wide IT solutions and projects.
• Manage and maintain Global Windows Server Infrastructure, including Windows Exchange, SQL Server, and RADIUS Servers, as well as Windows Deployment Services.
• Administer Microsoft Azure Infrastructure and Identity management.
• Administer Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies.
• Maintain Virtual Infrastructure.
• Administer Enterprise Backup Infrastructure to ensure backup availability for the global network.
• Administer Storage Area Network Infrastructure to ensure systems availability and uptime.
• Administer and Support SaaS applications.
• Administer Endpoint security SaaS solution.
• Own application and operating system tuning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Create and maintain documentation on systems, processes, and procedures.
• Actively mentor junior IT support team and provide support.

What You'll Need:

• 5+ years of systems administration experience, including Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, with Linux servers as a plus.
• Knowledge and administration of various applications and hardware, such as Windows server 2016-2022, VMware, and Azure Cloud Services
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Solid understanding of Windows operating concepts (DFS, Active Directory, replication, service and log management, permissions, etc.)
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage devices.
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
• BA/BS in computer science or equivalent education is a plus.
• MacOS experience is a plus.
• Linux/Unix and network administration are pluses.

Salary Ranges:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00
Our office roles are onsite in our Berkeley headquarters, unless specifically noted as 'available for remote'. We do allow one work-from-home day a week, as well as one work-from-anywhere week per year. This pay range is intended for in-person work in our Berkeley, CA headquarters. Pay ranges for remote-eligible roles will be subject to adjustment based on the geolocation of the employee.
