OUR STORY
- THE CHICAGO CUBS FRANCHISE is a charter member of Major League Baseball's National League. Since 1876, the team has won the National League pennant 17 times and was the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles in the 1907 and 1908 seasons. In 2016, the Chicago Cubs made history again when the team won its first World Series in 108 years, ending the longest championship drought in North American sports. Known for its ivy-covered outfield walls, hand-operated scoreboard and famous Marquee sign, iconic Wrigley Field has been the home of the Chicago Cubs since 1914, making it the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball.
HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE
The Senior Supervisor of Event Security will provide oversight, decision making and coordination of operations in the planning, organization, management, and execution of events security within the Wrigley Field Campus including but not limited to Wrigley Field, Gallagher Way, and the primary office building (hereafter the Campus). This role will be part of the team responsible for the Safety and Security of Major events (baseball, concerts, large-scale Plaza events, etc.).
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
- Assist in planning and execution of major events on the Campus
- Assist with all Security operations, including training, staffing, communications, documentation of after-action reporting and corrective follow up designed to improve operational procedures, including regular and ongoing analysis of operations data designed to improve security operations organization-wide
- Assist in ensuring policies and procedures remain consistent with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Safety Act and Major League Baseball (MLB) Best Stadium Operating Procedures (BSOP) and all applicable federal, state, and local laws
- Collaborate with all Chicago Cubs departments on related Event Security responsibilities
- Support the budgeting, staffing levels, and labor utilization for Security Operations
- Deploy, assign, and lead frontline Supervisors and associates in designated areas such as Wrigley Field or Gallagher Way and other Wrigley event locations
- Provide timely constructive feedback to Supervisors and Associates, documenting incidents, and writing annual reviews
- Support the implementation of Emergency Response Procedures including emergency evacuation, shelter-in-place, lock down, and weather-related safety training and exercises
- Must be available to work events including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Assist in the implementation and execution of initiatives, policies and staff procedures
- Supervise event data entry, incident reports and fan feedback, analyzing results, reviewing/investigating event activity, and identifying incidents requiring resolution or follow-up
- Oversee security interests for Campus events including decisions related to conflict resolution and service recovery
- Serve as a liaison between management and frontline staff, as well as operational partners
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- 4-year degree from an accredited university or college or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of two years' experience in event management and/or operations
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment across all levels of the organization and with a diverse workforce
- Demonstrated passion and ability to deliver a high level of service to internal and external clients
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Ability to lead the response to highly stressful and volatile situations, including arguments, fights, and medical emergencies

- Demonstrated experience with leading, directing, and managing performance of uniformed security personnel, conflict management, rewards and recognition, and safety and security related best practices
- Experience with ABI scheduling tool, Incident Management and Daily Operations Software, and Salesforce
- Familiarity with DHS Safety Act
