Job Title: Senior Storage Architect
Responsibilities of the Senior Storage Architect:
EDC Consulting is seeking to hire a Senior Storage Architectin Annapolis Junction, MD. The Storage Architect is responsible for ongoing storage recommendations, capacity planning and best practices, as applicable, for the following areas: business continuity, high availability, backup, recovery, and archiving.
The Senior Storage Architect will:
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to the development of new storage infrastructure and Information Lifecycle Management designs, including requirements and analysis.
- Conduct end-to-end analysis on the performance of the storage infrastructure, presenting findings and recommending improvements.
- Develop system alternatives considering life cycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, system expansion, and growth.
- Share ownership of operational responsibility for storage provisioning and availability at the government customer site with the Customer/Government Storage Manager.
- Provide storage-based standardized procedures to meet customer-agreed-upon standards.
- Generate regular storage operations reports using government-supplied tools.
- Configure and layout storage infrastructure and demonstrate proficiency in storage solutions including block, NFS, SIF, s3, share file systems, and NAS.
- Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board meetings, design reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-discipline coordination.
- Recommend changes to procedures for operational optimization and improved SLAs.
- Collaborate with project management to define project deliverables and schedules.
- Participate in creating technical storage documentation, including customized Standard Operating Procedures documents as required.
- Participate in gathering logs and data required for Root Cause Analysis.
- Perform performance tuning of storage infrastructure as required.
- Provide technical leadership for the delivery of ongoing technical architectural design, strategies, and plans.
- Design data migration plans and architecture as required.
Qualifications:
- 20 years of experience in overall storage operations or Storage Architecture, with a specific focus of 10 years in the storage technology present in the customer environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field.
- Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly
