We are seeking a Sr. Statutory Accountant to work at our Long Beach, NY office. After your training and onboarding, you will enjoy the ability to work a hybrid schedule if desired. This position will also have great visibility to our Lancer CFO.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage monthly deductible billing process including:
- Coordinating mailing of monthly invoices
- Manually calculating complex billing accounts
- Posting monthly receipts
- Managing required collateral including :
- Billing
- Coordinating with Banks for LOC’s
- Tracking and depositing cash escrows
- Maintain database of deductible accounts for billing and customer activity
- Analyzing and providing Sr Management with updated collateral status – aging, processing volume, etc.
- Prepare quarterly and annual premium & corporate tax filings for:
- 2 insurance Carriers
- 50 States
- Various in-state local jurisdictions
- Managing the payment process
- Monthly/quarterly/ annual accounting and accrual process
- Maintain database of filings and deadlines
- Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries capturing
- insurance activity (premium, unearned premium, commissions, paid losses and loss adjustment expenses and case reserves)
- reinsurance activity (premium, unearned premium, commissions, paid losses and loss adjustment expenses and case reserves)
- taxes, fees and manual adjustments identified by the policy admin system
- Maintain the insurance database and generate monthly/quarterly reports
- Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual regulatory filings
- Assist with preparation of annual audited statutory and US GAAP financial statements
- Assist with ad-hoc projects

Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree Accounting or Finance
- CPA or Master’s degree a plus
- Continuing education in Statutory Accounting Principals
- 5+ years of P&C Insurance Accounting experience
- Statutory & GAAP Accounting
- Reinsurance Accounting
- Bachelor’s degree Accounting or Finance
- CPA or Master’s degree a plus
- Experience researching and resolving complex issues
The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000
