Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
AMD's VBU - Virtual Bring-Up Central Methodology team, is adding a senior level engineer for Solution R&D Prototyping and Emulation technology. This role will concentrate on delivering capabilities for FPGA based emulation and prototyping to allow the company to meet challenges in producing ground-breaking compute and graphics silicon technologies. The candidate will focus on developing SW tools and solutions for improving FPGA based emulation and prototyping technologies at AMD to become the best for the internal users. Ensure a compelling improvement for the performance and compilation time via collaboration with AMD FPGA software and design teams.
THE PERSON:
Extensive experience working across teams, both internal and external, driving strong collaboration and engagement. Tackling large design model sizes with the advanced EDA approaches.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop efficient solutions targeting AMD emulation and prototyping efficiency.
- Developing unique optimizing approaches for AMD emulation and prototyping toolset leveraging the collateral knowledge about design architecture and internal protocols
- Developing HDL frontend transformations and unique synthesis components for AMD solutions
- Optimize and develop solutions for the FPGA based systems efficiency including critical path optimization, compilation time, and throughput.
- Apply ML/AI approaches to target optimization addressing largest AMD designs. Optimizing for latest FPGA platforms.
- Collaborate with FPGA design and Vivado compiler teams for analysis, and optimization.
- Collect and present user design data to define the next generation FPGA devices and compilers.
- Develop solutions to ensure emulator workload execution performance tracking for the leading-edge performance/throughput.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Industry leadership level expertise and experience developing EDA tools for large designs.
- Experience in tuning tools to optimize throughput and performance.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer engineering, Computer science or equivalent
