Through aggressive community outreach and the introduction of options that empower families, GEO strives to make educational choice a reality for all families.REPORTS TO/TERM:GEO Foundation -Director of AccountingFull TimeESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:An Accountant will be required to perform the following:Work harmoniously as a valued accounting team member to provide general accounting services including but not limited to:Preparing journal entriesMonth end closings of various schoolsPreparing draft financials monthlyPreparation of balance sheet accounts reconciliation with supporting schedules on regular basisPrepare bank reconciliations and Intercompany reconciliationsPrepare fixed assets schedule and record depreciationRecord and review various Grant related expenses and reconcile them with their budgets.Put together grant paperwork for reimbursements.Maintaining and tracking documentation for internal and external audit purposesPerform other duties as requested by supervisorRequirements: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Desire to work for a mission driven organization; making a difference in the lives of children and familiesBachelor's degree in Accounting (minimum) or Finance7-10 years' experience working in an accounting positionExpertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel skills)Proficiency in accounting software applicationsExtremely professional attitudeExcellent analytical skillsOutstanding organizational skillsDetail orientatedSelf-starter with strong work ethicHigh degree of confidentialityPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Public Accounting experience in an educational settingExperience working with NetSuiteKnowledge of GAAP AccountingCPA or CPA eligibleExperience with Federal grantsOur ideal applicant will live in the Indianapolis, IN areaPIb6381add9382-25660-33625591
