Senior Staff Accountant: A to Z Media is a leading supplier of physical media products, packaging, apparel and branded merchandise to music labels, content creators, businesses and other organizations. A to Z has offices or staff in New York, Portland (OR), Milwaukee, San Francisco and elsewhere. This position will be based in our New York office.
We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to work in our growing Accounting Team. The role will provide accounting related duties and will report directly to the CFO. Responsibilities:
- Reconcile monthly bank, credit cards and general ledger accounts; compile account analyses and work on resolving discrepancies
- Monthly book closing - calculate and post journal entries; accruals and deferrals
- Maintain and balance subsidiary/intercompany accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving differences
- Maintain support schedules used for financial, management and tax reporting
- Manage and review data entry of clients’ and vendors’ invoices to ensure proper coding and approval
- AP duties: vendors’ recs, job costing and issuing of the 1099 reports
- AR duties: Post customer payments, revenue allocation and deferred revenue reconciliation
- Calculate and file sales tax returns in multiple states
- Assist the CEO/CFO with financial and accounting matters as needed
- Ad-hoc projects
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Five to seven years of progressive accounting experience in a similar role.
- Experience in a small to midsize company is preferred but not required
- Experienced and skilled in reconciliations
- QuickBooks Enterprise/Desktop proficient

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
