Summary of Position:
The Senior Specialist, Insurance & Risk Management will play a vital role in managing and optimizing insurance processes to help us identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks for our company. The position requires a deep understanding of insurance policies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate and collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance and efficiency. The successful candidate will provide insurance administration and servicing support.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the administration of property and casualty renewal programs
- Consult with internal stakeholders to collect exposure information
- Participate in the ERM process and risk reporting
- Validate, process, and track departmental billings and payments
- Policy, binder, and endorsement review and tracking
- Prepare claims management reports and loss summaries
- Conduct document retrieval, data management, and research
- Assist in contract/agreement review for appropriate insurance requirements
- Coordinate with other departments to identify risks to CPC and suggest program enhancements to reduce potential losses
- Prepares and/or reviews reports and findings to present to management
- Supports the staff with ad hoc tasks
- Conduct training sessions to educate staff on insurance policies, procedures, and best practices
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks that may impact insurance programs
- Additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Risk Management, broker, carrier, or TPA setting
- A bachelor's degree in Risk Management, finance, business administration, insurance, or a related field Professional certifications (e.g., ARM, CPCU, CRM) are preferred but not required
- Working knowledge and understanding of property and casualty insurance and claims management
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills to process and interpret complex data
- Effectively manages/balances multiple and sometimes competing priorities
- Must be detail oriented and work well in a team environment.
This is a full-time, hybrid role where you will work from either the Manhattan or Chappaqua office two – three days a week. The salary range is $88,000 – $105,000, dependent on experience.
