Description
Senior Specialist GCS Trade Systems position is responsible for the Trade systems governing MRL imports and exports within our company's Global Clinical Supply Logistics and Trade Operations team. The Trade systems, support compliance with Governmental Trade regulations; as well as our company's Global Trade Compliance (GTC) standards.
In addition to supporting Trade Systems, this role includes Trade activities prior to shipment, such as transactional entry activities aligned with Customs, Health Authorities, export agency licenses/permits (example "Dual-Use," CITES), and other government agency requirements. The position works with MRL Technologies, Global Trade Compliance (GTC), site shipping personnel, and Clinical and Research stakeholders across all our company's locations. The role also interacts with Logistics, Transportation, Clinical Country Operations Globally, as well as third party vendors/shippers.
Key challenges include influencing constituents and stakeholders to following Trade policy and procedures and solving shipment specific issues, as necessary.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage cross functional Trade Systems projects supporting SAP GTS and Thomson Reuters OneSource, including on time delivery of systems enhancements.
  • Consult with internal and external systems stakeholders to ensure systems issues are expediently remedied.
  • Administration of VCP annual refresh, requiring strong Project Management and communication skills dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Management of Country Requirement Database (CRDb) global support to deploy our company's Compliance strategic goals and objectives aligned closely with business objectives.
  • Assure trade compliance with our company's Global Trade Compliance policy and standards and other global, country rules & regulations as applies to all processes, sites, and resources.
  • Monitor global imports and exports that contain products that require additional licenses/permits including those performed by our 3rd party suppliers and vendors.
  • Review shipment request information and shipping documents to ensure compliance with GTC global standards and local import Standard Business Practices
  • Ensure all trade attributes required by Customs, Health Authorities, export agency licenses/permits (example "Dual-Use," CITES), or other applicable government agencies are completed and archived to ensure compliant import broker clearance instructions or export declarations.
  • Work with GTC Center of Excellence (COE) group to obtain HTS classifications and FDA Product Code assignments as required.
  • Contribute to maintaining and implementing trade compliance Standard Business Procedures, tools, systems, and training to ensure compliance and to ensure the appropriate processes are incorporated into GCS and MRL Research Division operations.
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders to comply with Standard Business Practices developed by MRL Trade Operations
  • Support global shipping sites with import or export transaction challenges.
  • Contribute to special projects and assignments related to international trade as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage KPI's and metrics with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Required
    • Bachelor's degree or minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Preferred
    • 3 years logistics, trade, or project management experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
    • Knowledge of International Trade Customs regulations or related experience.
    • Experience dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
    • Experience interfacing with International companies.
    • Experience interfacing with third party suppliers and vendors (including freight forwarders, customs brokers).
    • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
    • Familiarity with global trade management systems (SAP GTS, Thomson Reuters Integration Point, etc.).
    • Proficient in English
    • Excellent project management skills and strong written and spoken communication skills desirable.
    • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
    • Sustained level of high performance while quickly processing high volumes of work

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected salary range:
$88,480.00 - $139,100.00
