Senior Software QA Engineer
Job Description
Set and maintain quality standards for company products through the use of systematic processes. Develops, modifies, and executes software test strategies, plans and suites. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. May develop tools and environments to automate test execution. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.
Responsibilities:

• Designs quality assurance and test processes for portions and subsystems of end-user applications, systems software, and firmware running on hardware, local, networked, and Internet- based platforms.
• Help improve the quality, performance, and resiliency of products like Rancher Manager, RKE, K3s, and Longhorn. Develop and execute comprehensive test suites and strive for full automation coverage of key product features.
• Design, build, and manage advanced automated software testing
  frameworks.
• Work with your fellow engineers and our customers to create a world class product.
• Participate in daily standups and work in an agile development environment. Interact with open source community, including participating in Slack channels, GitHub issues and forums to understand and resolve bugs.
• Work with support and customers on troubleshooting issues.

Education and Experience Required:

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, Software Engineer or a related occupation.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience may be gained concurrently and must include two (2) years in each of the following:

• Using software quality assurance tools and processes.
• Software testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools
• Fluency in languages Python, Go, or a related programming language
• Experience in DevOps process and CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Drone, Bamboo, or similar tools
• Working within a Linux environment
• Building maintainable and well tested code
• Demonstrable troubleshooting and debugging ability.

* Position reports into Pleasant Grove, UT office; however, telecommuting from a home office is allowed.
