Senior Software Engineer

We are actively seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in our dynamic team. In this multifaceted position, you will participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications and solutions, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft technology. Your mission is to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions that align with the company's strategic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with internal teams to conduct thorough requirements analysis and identify specifications for software applications.
• Develop meticulous code in C#, JavaScript, Python, and other relevant languages that is compliant with relevant data security standards (e.g., CMMC, NIST 800-171).
• Execute comprehensive testing, troubleshooting, and debugging throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Create and maintain reports using SSRS and PowerBI.
• Write clean, scalable code primarily using .NET Framework.
• Test and deploy applications and systems, consistently revising, updating, refactoring, and debugging code.
• Enhance existing software solutions and meticulously document processes throughout the SDLC.
• Provide third-tier support, ensuring seamless application integration and functionality.
• Contribute to the development of software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
• Understand data management practices with a preference for Microsoft SQL Server.
• Participate actively in peer code reviews and stay abreast of industry trends, incorporating this knowledge into effective business solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of demonstrated work experience with C# or similar programming language.
• 3+ years of demonstrated work experience with relational databases (PgSQL, Microsoft SQL).
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer.
• Proficiency in the SQL Server, and design/architectural patterns (e.g., MVC).
• Proficiency in SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS products.
• Experience with scripting within PowerShell, Terminal or other CLIs.
• Familiarity working with UX in Microsoft 365 Tools and Applications (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive and others).
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure preferred.
• Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC).
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to define and document requirements based on client specifications.
• Proven professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
• Capacity to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
• Willingness and ability to learn new programming languages and technologies independently.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
• Prolonged sitting, regular walking, bending, standing, and reaching.
• Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged view of a monitor/screen.
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally as needed.

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Seattle, and Redmond Washington is $98,500 - $151,300 a year. Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Tacoma Washington, Lake Oswego, and Portland Oregon is $93,600 - $143,700 a year. Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Bend, Oregon is $86,700 - $133,100 a year. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. GeoEngineers’ salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. As part of our competitive total rewards package, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
