Senior Software Engineer (Principal)

Seeq makes data analytics software for a big market that’s often overlooked by tech companies: industrial process data. Think pharmaceutical manufacturers, mining companies, wind farms, and energy companies with tons of equipment and sensors.

What You Will Do

As a Senior Software Engineer (Principal) at Seeq, you will be responsible for driving the design and development of our powerful data analytics software. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions. You will also mentor and coach junior engineers, guiding them in best practices and helping them grow their skills. You will be a technical leader, influential in shaping the direction and strategy of our software platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust software solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.
• Collaborate with other teams to define software requirements and ensure successful integration of various components.
• Lead technical design and architecture discussions, and guide junior engineers.
• Identify and champion best practices for software development, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing methodologies.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on our software platform.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement, through knowledge sharing and mentorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality code and solutions.
• Expertise in one or more programming languages, such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience with cloud platforms and technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and tools, such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers and lead technical discussions and decisions.
• Experience with data analytics or industrial process data is a plus, but not required.
