Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $167,300 - USD $204,500
Zone B: USD $158,900 - USD $194,300
Zone C: USD $150,600 - USD $184,000
Zone D: USD $142,200 - USD $173,800

Job Description
We're looking for passionate web developers for our Square Shop team. We are a thriving group, building high-profile websites and back-end systems. Your role would play an essential part in how Square connects to and educates our merchants, and their customers.
You will:
- Work on our eCommerce ordering platform, in partnership with our fulfillment, logistics, sales, and marketing teams, to get Square hardware into the hands of our merchants.
- Write concise code, and sensible tests.
- Scaffold integrations with third-party APIs.
- Architect large-scale systems that keep things running smoothly.
- Get mentoring and help, mentor others and provide constructive pull-request reviews.
- Get a balanced, supportive, fun work environment and career path.
Qualifications
You have:
- 5+ years of solid, practical, and ideally high-profile experience.
- An interest in web application development and online systems.
- You are very comfortable in at least one object-oriented language, and associated web framework. Don't worry about which one-we'll train you in Ruby (and Rails).
- Tenacity but are also flexible
