Senior Software Engineer - Backend
YOUR TEAM
As one of the first engineers on the Rewards backend team, you will be crafting an innovative new mobile experience that will redefine the boundaries of health and wellness. Our mission is to improve health outcomes for patients using technology. You will build highly available and scalable backend services to support Rewards mobile experience. You will gain a profound understanding of the intricacies of the US health system. You'll join a ground floor effort to build products that engage patients in activities that dramatically improve health outcomes. This role is open to remote, but preference is given to candidates located in these areas: San Francisco Bay Area & Seattle Metro Area
YOUR OPPORTUNITIES
As a Senior Software Engineer on Rewards backend team, you will be part of a team that is in charge of building services and infrastructure which will power user facing mobile experience. You will get to build a greenfield, end-user focused product. You will develop a product that will have a meaningful, positive impact on people’s health journeys. You will work closely with Product and Design teams to build new and innovative application experiences. You will architect and develop highly available and scalable distributed systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience in a software development role
5+ years of experience working in object oriented programming like JAVA, Go, Python or equivalent
3+ experience working on popular Cloud technologies like AWS, GCP, Azure, Oracle Cloud or equivalent
Experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Kotlin
Experience working with Terraform
Practical application of AI
Experience handling critical incidents for production systems
We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The expected salary range for this position is $162,000 to $198,000. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, and skillset.
