Moog Aircraft Group in East Aurora, NY is looking for a Hybrid Senior Software Engineer: Only candidates in the local area or willing to relocate will be considered.
The candidate will play a key role in developing critical systems and be required to:
- Design and implement software for use in embedded aircraft control systems utilizing real-time data
- Design and implement software that performs data acquisition and control for automated test equipment
- Perform systems and software integration and verification activities using real and simulated hardware
- Lead a team to provide system definition, requirements authoring, software development and verification, controlling project costs
With responsibilities in the following areas:
- For a given project, you will lead a team to define and implement the software requirements, perform system integration, execute system testing, and maintain support of the software in the target environment.
- You will have knowledge of various computer operating systems, including hardware drivers and hardware interfacing.
- You must stay abreast of advances in technology and processes for continuous improvement of accuracy, reliability, and cost.
- You'll be responsible for developing maintainable software interfaces to electrical and mechanical systems.
- You must select instrumentation for such systems with an understanding of the appropriate accuracy to meet functional requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience and a minimum of eight (8) years' experience, or a Master's degree and six (6) years' experience
- Programming in C, Python, dSPACE, Simulink, or LabVIEW computer languages
- Experience with DO-178 Level A Development and Verification activities
- Experience leading and organizing engineering teams, while maintaining organization communications
- Experience in a matrix-based organization
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
- Ability to access US export-controlled information
- Ability to travel internationally and within the US

Pay Disclaimer:
Salary range for this position is $120,000 - $185,000 annually.
The base pay range represents the low and high end of the Moog pay range or indicates the hourly rate for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on many factors such as skills, experience, certifications and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
