Moog is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer in our Test Systems group based in East Aurora, NY. This is a hybrid role reporting to the Systems Engineer Section Head.
Moog Military Aircraft (MMA) has been offering Superior Engineering and Advanced Technologies to the Aircraft Market for over six decades. Bill Moog's invention enabled the technology for fly-by-wire flight controls used in today's modern aircraft. Today Moog offers integrated flight control solutions, actuation control systems, and product-based solutions for much of the aircraft market in the US and globally.
As a Senior Systems Engineer in Moog Military Aircraft (MMA) - Test Systems, you'll lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team through specification, analysis, conceptual design, development, and verification of complex test equipment used to verify Flight Control systems and components. You'll be responsible for developing the architecture for effective system-level technical solutions to support Customers' needs.
Accountabilities:
Lead the systematic capture, development, and documentation of fully verifiable requirements into a total test system solution within technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Lead requirement analysis, design trade studies, and develop interface definitions to translate Customer use cases into hardware and software specifications
Effectively communicate functional requirements to the internal design team
Create detailed Verification Plans and Procedures for system testing. Innovate to improve verification methodologies
Validate conceptual designs through trade studies, models, and analyse
Lead system level integration and test activities, including system anomaly investigations
Lead the preparation of successful proposals. Coordinate technical team eads, make system level architecture decisions, and be a key contributor to the cost and technical volumes.
Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports
Operate within a team of creative, independent individuals
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Software or Systems Engineering with 10+ years of experience with 5 years leading projects; or Master of Science degree with 8+ years experience
A proven record of success leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
Experience with requirements development, design, modelling, analysis, integration, and verification of test equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or Amesim software
Experience with dSPACE or National Instruments real-time systems
Experience with closed-loop control systems
Experience with electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, or electro-pneumatic servo-mechanisms

The base pay range for this opportunity is $111k - $180k per year. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
