Position Summary:

At AutoNation, connecting and engaging with our Customers is what drives us. We’re looking for a Sr. Social Media Specialist to enhance our brand’s voice and persona on social. In this role, you’ll develop and implement Social Media content that informs external audiences about business objectives, initiatives and results as well as accomplishments, recognition, and sales and service offerings. Our ideal teammate is an expert at tailoring messages for different audiences and platforms. Social content publishing takes place via several channels to include Sprinklr, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and more. Our Social Media pro will serve up suggestions on tools, policies and processes for AutoNation’s social presence that will keep us on track and support business objectives.

In this role, you’ll exercise your Social Listening and Moderating skills, provide data on performance metrics and analytics, and publish and schedule content. You’ll also draft and/or edit PowerPoint presentations, email communications around Social Media, and other external Social Media correspondence, and enhance processes and strategies related to Social Media.

Your professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, and high level of responsiveness and urgency make you a valued teammate as you interact with senior level executives throughout the organization. You’ll also have opportunities to work on cross-functional teams driving key initiatives relative to Social Media.

 

Organizational Relationships:

  • Reports directly to the Director of Communications.
  • Interacts daily with other departments, including Operations (Sales, Service, and Marketing), Finance Operations, Human Resources, Benefits, Investor Relations, and key Corporate Executives.
  • Interacts with outside contacts (e.g., department vendors).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all Social Media accounts for the AutoNation Brand, AutoNation USA Brand, AutoNation Mobility Brand and RepairSmith by AutoNation Brand.
  • Manage content distribution for AutoNation's branded business Social Media pages
  • Develop, manage and optimize the social content calendar in partnership with internal stakeholders to drive engagement with our brand
  • Work closely with the Community Relations and Partnerships team to develop campaigns focused on charitable giving, AutoNation Racing, and additional sports partnerships
  • Support the development and execution of organic social efforts and influencer marketing across Social Media channels.
  • Manage multiple high-level projects simultaneously and work well cross-functionally both internally and with external agencies
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with Social Media vendors to continuously optimize the channel
  • Oversee execution of Social Media program development, execution, and measurement plans
  • Responsible for curation, deployment, and analysis of social content distribution across multiple AutoNation Brand, AutoNation USA Brand, AutoNation Mobility Brand and RepairSmith by AutoNation Brand Social Media accounts
  • Develop and execute proactive data-driven Social Media strategies and campaigns that increase awareness of AutoNation
  • Monitor and respond to existing and in-market car shoppers participating in social conversations
  • Work closely with Customer Relations team on customer complaints and feedback on Social Media
  • Collaborate on internal and external projects with high executive visibility and ensure accuracy, execution and meet deadlines, including the Retailer Leadership Conference and off-site Social Media activations.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions, creative development, and strategic planning initiatives; train new Associates on AutoNation’s social publishing tools
  • Manage organic Social Media content calendars as well as conceptualize tactics to increase following and audience participation
  • Generate ad hoc reports, analyses and recommendations to optimize social metrics.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital advertising/media, communications, PR, or business
  • Minimum 4 years’ related work experience including involvement with senior leaders and executives
  • Proven experience in Social Media marketing or as a Digital Media Specialist
  • Profound understanding of Social Media platforms, trends, algorithms, and best practices.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Creative thinking and ability to generate innovative ideas.
  • Intermediate/advanced MS Office skills, with a strong command of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Responds to projects and emails with a high level of urgency
  • Experience working in a fast-moving, demanding environment with proven track record of meeting tight deadlines and ensuring timely follow-ups with inbound questions and requests
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others across all levels of the organization, including excellent interpersonal, presentation and delivery skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel (less than 20%)
